Description This is an 8-hour SFST refresher course designed to improve the administration and overall consistency of the Standardized Field Sobriety Test (SFST) Battery. Our mission is to decrease alcohol-related crashes,injuries, and deaths by promoting DWI deterrence and enforcement proficiency.
 *Successful completion of the Standardized Field Sobriety Testing Practitioner Course is a prerequisite.

Peter Alvarado earned a promotion tothe rank of Lieutenant on November 14, 2016.  Lieutenant Alvarado began hiscareer in law enforcement 15 years ago and came to the Stafford PoliceDepartment in November 2016.  Lieutenant Alvarado has previously servedwith the Missouri City Police Department, Rice University Police Department,Matagorda County Sheriff’s Office and the Edna Police Department. 

Lieutenant Alvarado currently servesas the Lieutenant of Professional Standards and Training, to include hiring,recruiting and supervising the Texas Police Chief’s Association recognitionprocess and community resource office.

Lieutenant Alvarado currently holdsa Master’s in Business Administration degree from Texas A&M University –Corpus Christi, a Bachelor’s degree in Administration of Criminal Justice fromMountain State University and an Associate’s Degree in Law Enforcement fromWharton County Junior College.  

Lieutenant Alvarado currently holdsa Master Peace Officer Certificate and Master Telecommunicator License thruTCOLE.  Lieutenant Alvarado holds many other certifications to includeSFST Instructor, FRIDAY Instructor, SAFVIC Instructor, past DRE and Intoxoperator and Advanced Instructor Certificate. 

Lieutenant Alvarado has previouslybeen assigned as a Sergeant in Patrol, a Field Training Supervisor and Officerand Team Leader for the Patrol Division’s Power Shift. 


LieutenantAlvarado is a 19-year Veteran still actively serving with the Texas ArmyNational Guard as a Combat Medic Instructor in Austin, Texas as a SergeantFirst Class.
